Kersten Glaser (1992) is a German photographer and artist. Since 2015, he has been a certified photographer and is currently studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund.

The stylistic element of his work is the preservation of the values of classic photography. A good composition and the sensitive capture of the essential are important principles for him. Despite this, he wants to advance the medium of photography and experiments with alternative methods for presentation under modern perspectives. This includes the presentation of photographs in virtual space and the transcription of virtual places into reality.

His works often include everyday scenes or representations of his direct surroundings in urban settings. By focusing on the ordinary, he aims to encourage people to pause and provides them with the opportunity to rediscover the curiosity they once had as children. In his opinion, the next work of art is only a stone’s throw away and there is no need for a long trip to satisfy the desire for sensations. This consideration serves in contrast to the desensitization to the spectacular that has become common in our society, which social media, among other things, has contributed to.
